Media

My name is Sophie Keady-Williams, I decided to enrol on this Media Professional Studies 3 year course at LJMU because of the past media experience I had. When attending sixth form, I studied Media for two years.


I have been interested in media for a long time while watching; Films and Television. Another part of the media that I found I enjoyed while studying I.T in sixth form was creating websites and interfaces to attract users, to use.


At the moment I am unsure of what I would like to do within the media industry, I enjoy working behind the scenes researching information, but also creating something that someone could find useful. For example a website or an interface, media helps users to keep up to date with information from around the world.




Other types of media that I enjoy as a consumer and a producer include; television, radio, websites. Television attracts users to show and watch information that has been created for the purpose it also informs the user. Another reason why television interests me is that it is used all around the world. Different people from around the world and connect. Certain types of television I enjoy are; reality television, soaps and also some documentarys e.g. Top Gear. Whereas with radio it informs you, but also you have to imagine who the person representing the information want the audience to receive the information.


Websites intrest me as a consumer because you can research information, connect with users from all around the world, you can also shop within the comfort of your own home. Website also allow you to interact with other users and also characters from television programmes. Many users use social networking to interact and also to find out information about certain things. The two things that I enjoy more as a consumer are television and also websites.
